Meditation and chess

I haven't found it to help. In fact I would say generally that a good meal, physical fitness plus a good night's rest and a few other things are ahead of meditation in this and quite a few other things....
Separate, but related. I play checkers (draughts) and find that the state of the mind when playing this is clearer and deeper than chess, and seems to me (just like chess) to be a form of meditation.
