Hi Everyone,

Just wondering: Is there ANY significance to "member points" other than to show how many post you have made?

As far as I know, at the moment there is no significance however, at some stage in the future they may count for something. It seems this site is still in beta release, i.e. not fully developed yet.

I tried to use them in Vegas this weekend to comp my room. They didn't work.

Eric, that's a GREAT idea! If I can use 200 of these points for the cruise I'm taking in April, that would help out. Get right on that, will ya? Tongue out

Yes.

All I know is that there is a free t-shirt for 1000 member points.

I keep hearing this but can find no solid evidence of this as being fact...  where does this information come from?

I believe that at a thousand member points you get a free T-Shirt, but otherwise it is to clue in other users to how participatory the person whose comment you are examining is.

yes but, WHY do you believe this...  apart from the rumor mill I haven't heard of this nor have I seen a credible source (i.e. a Chess.com representative stating that this is, in fact, true...)

Everytime a member posts a photo, album, thread/post, blog, news item that member gets points. The points aren't used for anything other than to show how active that person is on this site.
