I came by a member who seems to have a rating of 1800 all across the board (all time controls) upon joining chess.com. What gives? Is this common?

either they have a new account or they have played elsewhere

I think that's done as a courtesy to titled players.

EDIT:  I'm often wrong of course. Laughing
