I wouldn't suppose modern TL players are susceptible to serious MHP.

How are they portrayed as lunatics? They're only "portrayed" as crazy when they act crazy, like Bobby. People starting threads based on assumptions that aren't even supported by general consensus, much less facts, is getting really old.

Bobby Fischer didnt act like crazy. He act accordingly to what happened to him.

Top level players ARE lunatics. Along with top level athletes, top level corporate execs, etc etc etc. to be the best you have to be insane. Period.

Just because his environment provided the foundation to his eccentricities doesn't mean he wasn't acting crazy. The government spying on him, while true, drove him into madness. Even legitimate paranoia can make you crazy.

For me he wasnt crazy. He is my role model. The US spied him when he was a child, and later on 2 fat cops jailed him and forced him to stay nude in a prision cell? I would also wish a plane would crash into the Whitehouse if I were him.
