I thought when you realize that you may be losing that it is natural to take more time to find a way out from losing. That's what I do:)

I've notice that when I play a game as soon as I come ahead in the game my opponent will take much longer to move almost as if waiting for a disaster to occure in real life to their opponent. When I start losing I continue to make the best move with out waiting days to move.
