I listen to music on the way to a match or tourney. The last tourney I went to I tried using music to block out the 'silence' of the room. Well, I lost all four games, to players I should have easily beaten, and noticed that I was distracted and not concentrating on the game. I was listening to Yo-Yo Ma's Bach Cello Suite and love the music but swore off ever listening to any music during games.
So music good before game, after game but for me never during the game.
i think music is a good guide when playing because and im not saying other people do this cuz everyone is different but music helps me zen out and as for the type any! i love it all!
