Instead of relying on such things that probably won't actually help with your game at all in the future, why not master your mind first? To me, this is nothing more of a placebo effect. I heard scientific studies saying that listening to music like this activates certain parts of the brain, making us more capable in thought processing, focusing and whatnot.
I have actually tried this before. My playing strength didn't improve at all. I guess i've come to the point where I can always play at my fullest strength without relying on these unnecessary devices.
A while ago I heard that there have been studies on pupils getting better at maths while listening to classic music like Mozart, Beethoven or Bach.
I tested this for chess with different types of music (esp. techno/house/hardrock/classical/hiphop) and noticed some big diffrences in my chess-performance depending on the music genre.
The best results i had with a music that can be found on youtube under the name "epic music" (don't know what the official name for that genre is).
Here is a good example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9er3xGsNlVc
There are a lot of similar tracks, just search for "1 hour epic music".
It seems to combine the classical elements and gives some sort of focus and fighting emotion. Whenever I listen to it during playing chess or doing tactics, my ratings go up considerably. For best results one should use stereo headphones, realax, listen to the music for a couple of minutes and then start some chessgames while continuing to listen.
If you try this, post your results, I wonder if others will notice the same chess strenght increase.
