My Anniversary is next month.

Well, it seems you all have managed to keep me around for almost one YEAR! November 24th will mean I have spent one year at this site. It is a special occassion. It takes alot to keep me interested in ANYTHING for one year.

In all honesty, it's not this site, but the the PEOPLE at this site, that keeps me going. This site has so many flaws that I couldn't begin to name 'em all. It's becoming more about advertising than chess. I have to sift through the FLASH ads--ads that make this site run like a snail (even on a T1 connection)--just to get to the "content".

But you people, in all your NAIVETY, HYPOCRISY, and ARROGANCE have made it enjoyable. I'd much rather debate things with you than play chess with you. It's a weird situation: No teams or groups with any merit want to play me--they run away, but the people that have NO MERIT, line up to debate me. There has been alot of talk and little action here. I must confess though that I'm not here to play chess, UNLESS an attractive opportunity arises, as it did in APRIL.

If I am a troll, then you people are the best troll-feeders I have ever met. AND that's a fact.

I still have never been checkmated in a game of online chess in 12 years. It's hard to believe, but it's true. I thought the vote chess games could open up a whole new world for me, but I was wrong. I am disappointed. But, the failure of competition here spurred me on to compete in USCF matches again (albeit with an earpiece, wireless camera, and RYBKA helping me out).

Monday, November 24th will be my ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY here. I expect to be congratulated when I log on.

DIDNT I PREDICT IT? ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO I SAID "WATCH OUT". THIS SITE WILL BEGIN TO MAKE YOU PAY TO GET BETTER SERVICE (IT DID). IT WILL BEGIN TO FLOOD ITS PAGES WITH ADS (IT DID). IT WILL REPEATEDLY FILL YOUR EMAIL BOX WITH SOLICITATIONS FOR $$$$$ ( IT DID). I live in the "real world" as well, and understand there is no free lunch, just compromises......

surely, YOU understand that advertising is the backbone of free Internet sites ....it is up to YOU if to decide to pay one way (by having ads visible), or the other way at Chess.com......you can also chose door #3, and don't use Chess.com....you act as if you are being forced to be here against your will.....

your arguments are very weak......more wild emotion than substance or logic, IMO....

PS: trust me, I have grown up to be a "big boy"......(hint: I don't complain about the little things that I can easily change if I so desire)....

Pay to play? NEVER. I'm a bit too smart to fall into advertisers' traps. I'm a SCHOLAR remember? 90%.....a FULL 9 out of 10 sites out there are just a FRONT for advertisers to make $$$. The odds are this is one of them but I can not pass judgement as I do not have all the facts. Remember, I only deal in FACTS and will not speak before I think.

Delve into the history of any of the  "free" sites out there that has made a significant revenue and you'll learn that the owners were just people thinking of a way to make $$$ on the internet and not starting a site that they had a personal interest in. You think BEZOS had a passion for books before he launched Amazon? HA. You think CRAIG loved advertising before he launched his LIST? HA. You think BRIN just didnt get enough info in his real life and really needed Google to fill a need? HA. The story has not been written on the guys that started this site, but more likely than not, I'll bet there is not a passion for CHESS in their personal and private lives. Before this site, I'll bet  money that not one of the people involved in this site devoted more than 1 hour per week of their own time playing chess. I'LL PUT MONEY ON THAT ONE!!!
