My chess rating is different.

My chess ratings are very different. In chess.com my Blitz rating is really low, only 703. In another site though, my Blitz rating is 1104. What's going on? Sure, "They use different rating systems." might be your answer, but...

chess.com uses the system Glicko and

the other site uses the system Glicko-2.

They shouldn't be so different. So, how could this happen?

You lost here and not there?

Yes, that's exactly what happened.

It's not just the rating system, it's the strength of the pool of players participating as well.

Chess.com policy is also that we don't make comparisons with our competitors in our own forums, so I have removed the specific name above.

it's because of inflation. The other site i know you're referring to starts you at 1500 when you join while here it depends if you pick new, beginner advanced. because everyone starts at 1500 on the other site people playing on that other site will be higher. it doesn't mean your chess.com rating is 100% accurate because of other factors but take online ratings wit a grain of salt.

If both sites use a version of Glicko, your rating will be very close if you play 100 blitz games on each. If you play far fewer games, the much smaller pool of players you have faced means your rating will be less accurate.

Don't worry about it, it's not a big deal.
