My first Tourney!?

Hi, I'm an enthusiastic chess player. I've started roughly less than two months ago. I'm still not that strong, but I'm excited to play this Sunday! I'm pretty confident but realizing that it's a few days away, I'm getting nervous.

What if I don't stand a chance?

Even though I play for fun and amusement, I don't want to lose all the rounds.

I could say I'm 1200~ (Or even less![or more hopefully])
Am I too excited to play a tournament and shouldn't rush it, or should I go ahead, for the fun and experience?

Of course you should play.

What's the format?

22 | 3 or 25 | 0 .
There is a category for me: Non-master players (rated or unrated) 1950 below.
EDIT: Here:

• Rate of play: 22 minutes with three seconds increment (Bronstein Time Delay) per player using the digital clock, or 25 minutes per player using the analog or mechanical clocks.
• Mode of play: Swiss system, minimum of seven rounds. Additional rounds if needed depending on the number of participants.(Please refer to the ground rules)
• The FIDE Laws of Chess, particularly the Laws on Rapid Chess, shall govern the tournament.

(Ground rules will be posted on-site)

Go for it. @1200 you'll proabably lose the first 2 or 3 in an under 1950 tournament, but dont despair, Swiss is great for pairing you with players your own level in later rounds.

Thank you! I'm sick and tired of playing with computers and I have a gnat for looking for human mistakes.

I would go for the 22/3. If you have the option this is the one to choose so that there aren't any cheap results in the endgame. If you use an analog clock make sure you keep a close eye on your time when time trouble (5 mins) arrives. And make sure you hit the clock when you move. A lot of people forget to do that their first time around.

Anyway tournaments are lots of fun and in this one you'll have a chance to play many different rating levels too so it's definitely going to be a great experience. Just have fun. I went 0-4 in my first otb tournament but it was fun anyway.
