My game just suddenly stopped

I was playing 5-minute chess on my phone and I just won a bishop when suddenly the app put me back to the menu without any notice. I'm pretty sure the app wouldn't let you go back without a result or resignation and it won't let me go back into the game. Is this some kind of bug or could this be my opponent's doing?
The server reset; probably for routine maintenance. Your opponent had nothing to do with it...
