My massive 7 day improvement

Seven days ago I was stuck on 1187 getting nowhere fast......I'm 74 years old and the wife said to me 'perhaps your brain is now too old for fast chess' (bullet and blitz).......I decided she may be right and started playing 10 minute rapid.....Amazingly, in just a week I have improved my rating to 1429!..............A jump of 242 points in 260 games........I'll keep updating these figures each day ......who knows what I may reach. 👍

Great job....10-0 rapid makes me anxious for some reason,so I gave daily a chance. 730 rapid, up over 1100 daily... time controls make a big difference.

Quick update (for anyone interested).....I have now managed to improve my rating by 253 points in 25 days......For an old man like me this is very pleasing......I have done it by playing 20 rapid games a day using only the London opening.......Hope your own progress is coming along nicely too.

Mentally I feel 25, physically I feel 95.

I'm 67 and I cannot handle bullet nor blitz chess, even at game 10 I would run out of time so I do not even attempt fast chess. Now at game 30 and in daily games I can give my younger and stronger opponents a run for their money.
