jesus christ bro, I already mentioned in this thread that I dont give a crap about chess anymore, I just play for hell of it; I dont practice, study, go over openings. The only reason I still play is because my chess team in highschool travels around the country for scholastic tournaments, and since we always qualify, all of our expenses are paid for.

I already stopped focusing on chess once I reached middleschool, and I had a peak rating of 1870 when I was in 4th grade, so keep feeling good about your measily 1600 rating @ 18 years.

I am an awful chess player, but I really enjoy it all the same. My primary natural talent is singing and playing the guitar. I play music professionally and am considered a good performer by my peers. However, there are many other facets of life to be enjoyed other than what you are good at. You never heard Michael Jordan say "I just don't understand why more people can't get into the NBA and compete. Anyone who can't dunk must be physically handicapped." You never hear elite professionals (which you are not) make ridiculous comments like this.
