I wish I had autism too, if it makes me playing Chess like this.

I believe it is possible to defeat Houdini. There may exist positions where Houdini's internal algorithm may be unsuitable, and the boy may stumble upon them or play in manner that confuses Houdini. Bugs exist in every software, and Mr. Houdart keeps finding improvement after improvement with each released version. Regardless, defeating Houdini (although it may be a feat in itself) says nothing about a person's chess ability. If you believe the boy has talents, you should encourage the boy to play in real tournaments against real people. That's the only way to prove one's chess strength.

The thing that bugs me about this game is that the game consisted of a long opening line that I am familiar with ( Remember that vote chess game anyone?) It is odd that he would play a line of super dense opening theory....Maybe he had an opening book next to him? IDK... Hope I am wrong that this is wrong and you are right.

Your off on your dates MarkaMark, April fools is about 40 days away.  ;) Good story though, maybe someone can use this outline to write a fictional chess novel!

Quite interesting IF TRUE ( someone mentioned the " Rainman Syndrome " earlier).

Not meaning to upset you Moses2..., but can you memorize the phone book and calculate days of the week from the dates ? For example: what day of the week was Nov 4th of 1998 ? I had the chance to read an interesting article on the real " Rainman " and the people who are like him ( either in Scientific American or in Discover magazine, quite extraordinary ).

On another topic, if the game is book up to move 25, why did Black trade queens on move 23/24?

It seems wrong to me, especially when he is down material.

who is houdine

You mean Houdini, but anyways, it is the worlds strongest chess playing program. It plays at a rating of 3300 approx.

Rasparovov

Soo did my non-existing imaginary friend aswell.

Doggy_Style

My toe defeated Houdini, whilst I slept.

I have no proof but you just have to believe me.

I mean, if a toe can beat Houdini, imagine what a whole boy can do.

Hello everyone, I have been reading through all of your comments and I understand why many of you are doubting whether I am telling the truth or not. I have called my brother this morning and told him that I looked online and could not find any other instance of a person beating the houdini program. He agrees that what his son did is very impressive and that he would not be uncomfortable with me trying to get in touch with some kind of news station. With the help of my wife, I am writing an email to chessbase which is the company I purchased the program from which also covers chess related news. It would be quite amazing if they are willing to send a journalist down to watch Adam play. Ill try to keep everyone updated!

If what you say is true, just have your nephew enter the state's scholastic championship, the K-12 section. He will win the tournament easily, become a Denker champion, and then earn a college scholarship, all in one year.

Big deal... I heard of chess players beating Houndini 10 out of 10.Let him match that.

Uhm.. what the hell. I know Sicilian pretty well and these moves are 100% theory that no one without a lot of opening training would come up with. http://www.chess.com/games/results?f=73369019

I myself have experience with very bright young kid with a lot of potential (http://www.chess.com/forum/view/game-analysis/12-yo-beginner-game-against-engine), and I know that kids assume knowledge like no one else, but this thread is just idiotic. And people who believe it's true are also idiots.

Cool thread bro, what else didn't happen?
