On Tuesday, July 9th, the Marshall Chess club hosted a 30 game simultaneous exhibition against GM Sam Shankland (pictured below). I was one of the participants. Shankland won 28 games; 2 players managed to draw. Some of his games were easy, others not so much. My game was very interesting, and I will analyze it for you.
Overall, I feel pretty satisfied with this game, even though I lost. I probably was one of the few players who managed to get a sizable advantage on him; most players were losing or had resigned by move 30, whereas I had a drawn position. Anyways, a big thanks to the Marshall Chess club, and an even bigger thanks to Sam Shankland.
