My Take on Elitism in Chess

It all depends on who you talk to. Their probably are people who do somewhat out of the air because of their high rating and I do not mean the top of the chess players at the moment. It can be just a club champion or even some guy who won an open tournament. But mostly the players aren't egalitarians.
I left clicked over what they typed, and it was easier to read.
Basicaly got ready to copy/paste, but didn't actually copy.

Elitism in chess was just some clickbait idea a non-player used a few years ago to boost that week's views on his youtube, twitch, etc. I'm surprised to see someone bring it up in 2021.

unrated game with ...world champion Chess Queen from Russia Alexandra Kosteniuk. When else in time can some bozo in kentucky with a dip in his mouth play a chess match vs a former world champion... Cheers all thats what I got.

Elitism can be being viewed as "stupid" and having "nothing good to say" either on the board or even off the board sometimes by a stronger chess player. Of course now more than ever we have been moving away from this view, and it's declining alongside racism sexism and other essentialistic views.
I know that you (MrJingles) have been in many communities that don't have any or very little elitism shown but in some groups it can still be a problem.
I have an off topic discussion, which I just had a friendly conversation with my only friend in real life that plays chess. On Elitism in Chess. I don't see it like how some others do. If anything compared to the historic climate of 1950s Russia ect... I don't see elitism in chess as a problem. Yes there will always be some nepotism ect.... Yet we have a more egalitarian (freedom to all) of access online. Its very nice actually. Yesterday I played an unrated game with former world champion Chess Queen from Russia Alexandra Kosteniuk. When else in time can some bozo in kentucky with a dip in his mouth play a chess match vs a former world champion? I don't see elitism on chess.com and I don't see it on twitch at all. Its actually the opposite on twitch. What I see is some required measures by FIDE ect... that simply must be maintained. This being with the amount of money in our sport, and the possibility of rampant cheating ect. Cheers all thats what I got.
