Carlsen misscalculate a moove where Nakamura could just play e6 to stop white agression on is king side... But even then... Chess is a game of mistake ! You might have to accept that Nakamura is a very spécial player when you Will check the way he convert... Almost all computer first choice for the next 12 mooves it so ! Cheers

Carlsen completely misplayed it. No idea why he played f3.

Completely misplayed all the critical moments in the game. Modified the pawn structure terribly...

would you like cheese with that whine?

"ALL ABOARD!!!"  The excuse train is now leaving the station...

I can't accept the fact that Blundermura is good at Chess, I don't know why. But I guess I have to congratulate him? As soon as I get home I will see the game, my faith in humanity relies on the fact that Carlsen blundered.

I just analysed the game and now I feel confident that I can draw against Magnus in a standard game, maybe win if he blunders again lol.

Did you analyse the game or did you just looked at what the computer analysist is suggesting ?? Its easy to find the moove obvious when its in your face !

I just took the PGN and read it blindfold, and found the mistakes and best moves by my own, while I was lunching.

Sorry MarcoBR444 i dont want to be rude but your rating is barely 1400 in standard... So dont tell me you just looked at the pgn and saw errors blindfold ... Guys lets he honnest :)

Ok, let's be honest... I  saw only 2 mistakes and one blunder... And I had almost finished my lunch then I could concentrate better.

The reason is I have a start-up company, "THE KING OF PATZERS CHESS ANALYSIS, INC.,", then I am developing quite fast analysis skills:

The game does look like a joke of sorts... it's like Carlsen saying - "ok, I'm sick and tired of this. You're obviously a long-standing elite player, we already played thirty games - so let's get this over with"

(meaning - "yes, you can finally win one. Now what?!?!")

He does everything to give the game to his adversary - putting his knight offside, advancing every possible king-side pawn... just take the game already!!

I'm not surprised that a 1400 player can see what's wrong with this game - as Carlsen purposefully breaks here every principle of play typically taught to players rated 1400 and lower.

I'm rated FIDE 1950, which isn't the world's best, but also isn't all that bad probably. If anybody here understands the strategical depths of Carlsen's play in this game better than I do - then please enlighten me. I really want to know.

Marco must be an exceptionally talented player if he can see the mistakes from the pgn blindfold. I could play a very decent blindfold chess game (for my level) when I was about 1400 - but reading a pgn blindfold is something that I find harder to do and can't really manage even today.

MarcoBR444 also said that he is confident he can draw against Carlsen, maybe even win.  Am I the only one who detects a slight hint of whimsy in his posts?

Its always a good idea to try to make your wishs come true i guess :)

two or more split identities, two in his case

gromius

that was such a joke opening. it as if carlsen is trying to find the minimum effort he has to use to win games.

Meh, the kingside advance wasn't intuitive of course (I wanted 14.e5), and it wasn't best, but it has its ideas. It gains space, at the end of it Naka's queen is deactivated, and Naka has no clear pawn break plus his queenside targets to worry about. The knight on a5 is ready to go to work on the queenside, I don't think it's a bad piece. I'd still take white.

The moves I can't understand are 17.Bc1 and 19.h4, this seems completely out of synch with the position, and soon after he even manages to lose a pawn. After that it looks like white thrashes around almost aimlessly (changing his mind from one series of moves to the next). Perhaps here Carlsen was his own enemy, always finding fault with any plan he could come up, so his moves become disjointed.

Anyway, I agree not a good game from Carlsen... some might even say really bad, but I thought f3 and g4 were interesting, and I liked white's middlegame (for a while).
