You have better pieces. Then the tactics work for you. tldr version. Plus you make weaknesses in the opponent's position. Some positions are just too difficult to play or set up tactics in, realistically, and positional play can take away the opponent's resources, and however creative he may be, it just might not be possible to show. To attack properly, you may need active pieces and prep first.

Ignore those people, they are sore losers who doesn't like to lose games. There is a very low chance you will encounter a cheater. It's either you play bad, or you made a critical mistake.
