If I got a good coach how much quicker could I improve and around how long do you think it would reasonably take to reach the NM title?

Personalized game analysis would be a major plus. It depends how active you are with tournaments and if you manage to become strong enough to earn this, I know a friend of mine who was very active throughout his teens and it took him several years of active practice to earn NM, he felt discouraged at supposed stagnation at some periods.

Hi ,my online rating is 1490 and otb fide is 1501 and I hv 3 questions

1) is my online rating less than fide rating because I play too much?

2) is 1501 fide enough to achieve AFM title?

3) How can I improve my rating further , I can devote 1 hour daily

In your experience, how much lower is your USCF rating than your chess.com blitz or rapid rating. Also, it takes 2200 classical to be an NM, right? I joined USCF like a week ago, and I’m trying to be competent enough to at least be able to play lower titled players.

google says yes, though it has to be online rating

It really depends on if you are a slow specialist or not, because some people are really experienced logical decision makers who calculate a lot in their slow games, and someone else might play not that much stronger than their blitz, just moving quickly

If you and Gotham chess teamed on hikaru, who do you think would win?

Great question! Would I have the chance to solve ALL of Chess King's puzzles apps first? ;)

I have actually gotten great positions against Hikaru before, though not yet managed to win.

My question is, do you think I would be able to continue to use this method to reach the NM title without ever getting a coach to tell me what I’m doing wrong.

How old are you? Younger players have a tendency to improve with basically any method.

why is it that younger players have an easier time improving and getting past plateaus?

Superior neuroplasticity: this allows for easier automation of the chess geometry and patterns.

Can I reach 2000 elo in rapid by the end of this year . I started playing a year ago with no experience and I am currently around 1650s and 1700s . My endgames are not that good but I'm working on it. I suck at puzzles 😭 any tips ?

I am about 600 elo. Should I keep playing Kings Indian Attack?

Yes. It is a solid and flexible opening. You can also play 1. h3 openings in blitz.

It’s also my favourite

If you made it to 1600 in a year, you are probably very young, and lots more progress is pretty typical for active youth. Keep practicing endgames/puzzles, I'd be happy to offer more personalized recommendations after we do game analysis in a trial lesson, especially after you tell me more about what resources you've already used, and your budget for study purchases.

System openings help you practice developing your pieces while you learn basic tactics. You might not notice if something is attacked while setting up your system until better board vision is developed, either based on immediate threats, or tactics. It's ok start, you will need to focus more on non-openings to make a lot of progress, and studying the ideas of gambits and king pawn openings on the side based on master games can supplement your system approach.
