Navigating chess.com's user interface....

Thanks, but how do you indicate that you've completed your move to start the clock on your opponent in a 1-day game?

Looks like you did the right thing. The only reason I can think of to explain the interface moving you to another game is 1) you have more than one game in progress and 2) in your Settings you turned on the option to be moved to the next game where it's your move.

You'll have that if Confirm Move is enabled.

There's should be a green button ✅ to confirm the move
What happens next depends on the setting option configured under After Moving. One option is to stay on the game

Thanks, Martin. Those were indeed the settings that needed to be changed.

if you have made a move and then hit the check mark meaning you approve of the move it auto goes to the next game in your que- if you want to take back that move before checking then hit the x then it reverts to the previous position - once the check is hit the opponents clock starts you can only see your board when its you turn unless you go into my games and hit that screen then you can see the board game up to that point --- as what others have said here they are correct
Yes, I'm new. I'm using a desktop and I'm playing a 1-day game with a guy. I take it dragging a piece and dropping it on a (legal) square is not enough to "complete" a move? When I do, two large buttons appear on the right -- a check mark, or an "x" -- and my clock is still lit.
Did I miss the instructions someplace? OK, so I hit the check mark button -- to indicate Yes, that's the move I want to make. And.... the whole game disappears and goes to a new game screen. So I've got to hit the back button to get back to my game. What the heck?
I didn't have any trouble with a 30-minute game. How do you indicate that you've completed your move to start the clock on your opponent in a 1-day game??
