Need Help Coming Back

I used to play chess years ago, but took a five year break. I recently picked up chess over the summer again and spent a few months regaining my skill.

However, it seems that recently the more I play, the more I've been falling off. At a tournament last month, I was guarteened to be top 4 and was a contender for winner. In the first round, I lost against someone I had beaten 10 times in a row.

Can someone please help me get over this hard time? I need to get back and regain my skills as well as get better. If Someone can post tactics and stuff, I would like it.

Thank You,

I have another tournament in a month or two, so I would love to greatly increase my skill.

Just do some tactics to refarmiliarize yourself with them. Lichess offers free tactics, or chess tempo. Then study a few openings and analyze some games with an engine. If you can play at a local club it will help you get used to playing over the board. Lastly, don't play too much blitz, instead, play some long games or rapid games as you don't really learn anything in blitz.
