I remember this moment very well. I was below 2000 and thought that 2000+ will never happen. It happened:)

I honestly think the gap between 2000 and 2200 is larger then from 1600 to 2000, effort alone is no guarantee you will make it.
Do lots of tactics and puzzle rush, nothing changes. Time will tell if you can make it or aim even higher

I am going to play in a classical tournament otb in 2 days. I practice tactics, read chess books, play, watch vids and love the game

Hey man, I am a newly minted 2200+ in Rapid. The trick is to think more positionally - I've noticed that after 2000, players begin to stop missing tactics. The way I win against people in my rating bracket has been largely positional chess. You need to also start thinking about how the middle game will translate into an endgame, rather than just going blindly for an attack. That would only work in the 1600-2000 bracket - after this point, players have played so much that by without thinking of the endgame; you will certainly lose or at best draw.
Try to think more critically about pawn structures and do not trade down into an endgame mindlessly!
