Think of it as a learning process. If you lose, you still learned something. Someone mentioned the London System in a post yesterday. I had never played anything but 1 e4 as white, but like this Slav/Caro-Kann in reverse. So I played in a daily game that began yesterday. In daily games you're allowed to explore the openings, so I'll have a good look at the opening and learn something by playing it - even though I've had great success with 1 e4 here and OTB.
