You're malding on an internet forum. Of course you're not going to be taken seriously.

Who to believe indeed /s

Your vocabulary and terminology scream "teen Tate follower and wannabe Twitch streamer", not confident young woman with a point of view. Already covered the overreaching "malding" attempt. Next.

This applies to your "malding", Sherlock wink.png.

@8thmarch2023 … seriously. Are you okay? Do you need help? A therapist?

That…. Doesn’t really make much sense as a response….

There is a difference between your hot air and my diagnostics.

Is this your example of something diagnostic?

Lol, there is, but you have things backwards. The proof will be in the pudding. I'll probably still be posting for another 10 years unless the forums continue to degrade to the point of uselessness...will you? Doubtful. Even if you manage not to get banned, you'll tire of this persona and make a new one.

Is this DiogenesDue troll still troll posting? Maybe if he focused on his chess instead of trolling he wouldn't be hard stuck pislow.

An astute observer would see that I haven't really played chess on chess.com since 2014 (other than votechess), and barely played here even then. I have other venues.

I can see that you are pretty uppity about your rating on the site, but you might want to not draw attention to it.

After your initial tilt you really set yourself up to be taken very not seriously for the foreseeable future.

But by all means, keep proving my points.

I can do this forever, and never tilt. I guess you will eventually find that out wink.png.

Nice try but there was no coming back from that slam dunk of a burn.

Lol. Trying to insult someone's rating is actually a sign of capitulation on the discussion front.

Just be happy they were charitable enough to comment.

Maybe they were trying to cheer you up.

Most don't like to see peeps rage on a game of it's forums.

He's probably worried about you!

I'm more worried about you. Your need to have the last word with a guy that just practically speaking has a lot more time than you have is amusing, though. Someone who is actually successful would not try so hard.

Sounds like you've got a lot to unpack there.

I'm in a warm, casual mood. With any luck, you'll be able to be as well.

Don't do anything unsafe, it's gonna get better I promise.

I would say nice try, but it wasn't.

- There's not a lot to unpack in my post

- My mood isn't affected by your posting about how you want to pretend you are feeling. Show, don't tell.

- How does it get any better? I already lead a life doing exactly what I like without having to work for anything anymore. Humanity could stand to improve in general, but personally I am zen.

It’s a significant challenge to our life journeys, unfortunately.
You’ve got to understand that for our undiagnosed childhoods, a lot of us showed a lot of signs of being very smart. That’s why teachers and parents would often expect us to do well in exams. Unfortunately, a lot of the symptoms of ADHD make it practically impossible to sit exams well, and so we’d not do as well as expected.
What that meant is that we’d go home and be told “you have so much potential, you just need to apply yourself! Just try a little harder”
We’d try harder, and then fail to meet expectations. Again and again and again, with no explanation why. And that takes its toll on someone after a while.
With chess, it just means that I tend to assume I’m the worse player in a game, assume that I’m somehow a fraud or got here by luck, and consequently I often overestimate the strength of my opponents. And, irritatingly, don’t always analyse their play for obvious mistakes!
It also means losses hit us like a freight train :(
Sorry if that was oversharing, I’m just trying to answer the questions as candidly as i can…

Yeah I got INCREDIBLY lucky. My personal blend of neurodivergency and mental issues made me a phenomenal tester without studying in every subject… it was everything else that I simply couldn’t do. Two of my classes in senior year (12th form) became asynchronous and online going into the second semester and my quarterly grades dropped dramatically. My physics quarterly grades were as follows: 100, 100, 55, 35. My statistics grades were: 100, 100, 65, 55. My final grades in those classes were 72 and 79. because I simply could not get myself to do essentially any of the assignments besides the tests. All my other classes were slightly better, I just tried to turn in most of my assignments and I ended with 90s, but I was struggling all year to keep up.

Thanks for sharing yeah ~ that makes a lot of sense. Yeah...the whole online thing is...not great for a lot of people.

this is a chess forum and we're trying to discuss chess here but instead trolls like you who don't even play chess are just wasting their own time and others by trolling.

DiogenesDue is not successful at anything when he's so bad at chess and spending a ton of time trolling on some random forums.

The hypocrisy of continuing to read, and worse, post on threads you claim to despise is noted.

It's also objectively true that I am not bad at chess, falling into the percentiles I do.

You might benefit from reading "Moonwalking With Einstein." Because it is true, you don't need a good memory to be able to memorize hundreds if not thousands of games. There are well researched means of recall which don't require higher intelligence than average. There isn't one kind of memory. There are areas we are good at and areas we are not. There are systems that utilize the good to maintain the challenging. Systems like the Major System for memorizing lists of numbers, phone numbers, etc. Memory palace.

Hope that helps.

The best part about that brilliant book is that it exposes the fraud that is Daniel Tammet. It also talks quite a bit about the memory of chess masters if I remember correctly.
