Play some slower chess and read a couple of books (or watch a few chess videos, do more puzzles). You will learn and improve this way. You need to learn basic opening principals to get to a position in the game where you can outplay your opponent.

Not to worry, as the people before me have said, practice makes perfect. If you practice, and keep practicing, then you will improve.practicing for just an hour or so a day got me from a 847 to a 1200 in about three months OTB, and my online chess improved similarly. Enter a few tournaments at your level, doesn't have to be often, every other week would probably work out fine. Other than that, just keep on keepin on. I wish you luck.
