i'm interested in tiptoeing into chess lessons. I actually don't live far from you. I live about an hour North in Warren PA.
time is a bit of an issue, but I notice you mention that you'd play a game and offer analysis. this might really work for me!
as you can see from my profile, I'm not doing well at blitz. I'll get up to 1100 - 1200 that have some bad games and fall back down in the 900's and claw myself up.
in the real world, I do some over the board play with the few people I have found with an interest every sunday night... I'm experimenting with some correspondance chess, and I'm doing a lot of study (espacially at evening).
Mostly tactic puzzle books,with a sprinkling of openings stuff. There's also endgames and a few positional primers. ANY ways LOTS of books so- there's really no point in any new acquisitions.
anyways I'm not ready to commit to lessons, but I would be willing to spend just a little bit of money for a little more clarity on where I'm at.
How would that work, time wise. Do you have a schedule? I spend a majority of my study time late. or maybe I could lure you up here or meet you down there?? I used to live near butler.
but anything face to face would have to be late. I'm afraid.
for reference, I'm a 40 year old guy who hopes to get better at blitz, get some tactical skills, and maybe once the kids leave the nest get back into a tournament scene. I tournament chess I only rated mid 1200's. feel free to email me at joliphant@urc.com.
