Well, I'm not really the best person to answer your question (my play is really sad, you see), so let's wait for the better guys to troop in and advise you, shall we? :)

when you are in a lost position, make sure tou abuse your opponent and not move for a long time. sometimes the opponent will resign or offer a draw because they don't want to wait. it's a good way to get better results and achieve higher rating
Hello everyone,
I am a new member to chess.com, I have very little experiance. Chess is something I have always enjoyed but never really had the time to play. But, I recently have had a lot of free time on my hands and was wondering if there are any tips to getting better what I should learn/focus on first as a new player.
