I'd say the membership changes are both a blessing and a curse.  First the initial bad impression.  The tactics trainer (which I heavily use as a gold member) will now be capped at 50 (or is it 25?) problems per day, where I sometimes do many more than that.  That is a bit of a drag.

Now for the good impression, I've always completely ignored the chess mentor application since when I originally signed up for my gold membership almost a year ago, little did I realize there was a clock ticking and I never actually even got a chance to try out my paid-for chess mentor lessons before it said my time had passed.  It appears now that you can get unlimited usage with the highest membership option and since the lessons seem to be well-designed and there appears to be lessons that go high enough (2000+), I feel I have much to gain still, so I'm debating making the upgrade to my membership.

Anyone else had experience with the chess mentor application around my current rating level (1899)?  Did you find its interactivity and lesson design more helpful than top quality chess books?

Thanks.
