New Stat Category Needed... Top 10 Best Wins

A win on time can be a best win depending on the position at the time of the timeout.

If you read the original post, the suggestion was that either rating be used to build this list or that this be done in combination with users selecting some additional games of theirs to showcase.

Grobe.... I think we are on to something here, but not enough people are reading it to give it it's due. Maybe I could have done a better job with the title of the post.... I don't know.

I think the chess.com staff checked this out..... what do you guys think? Maybe chess.com could post a survey asking if members would prefer an updated version of the of best wins stat as described in this post.

rooperi

Yeah, I'd like to choose my own best game. My best win says very little about me, but a lot about my opponent, a 2100 who was gracious enough  to resign after dropping a piece on move 7.

very nice ideas, it will be fun to see them!

I wonder if searching peoples who like the idea includes that they post even if they haven't got anythink to add: if all starts that it could become spamming, so I'm with the idea of a survey

Yes... a survey would work... many people respond to those when they first log on.

Thanks padman. As mentioned in my original post... you would agree that the "best win" stat sometimes is over rated because of time outs (see my example) thats why a top 5 best wins based on highest rating wins should get some consideration. This of course would be automatic and would require no input from the chess.com staff.

I agree with you about the entering a blog posting a great game.... Ive done that and few people look at it.

Kernicterus

Yes, why hasn't the staff picked up on this idea?  They could at least do it for premium members?  It could be another little perk?

This would be a great thing!  And a lot of fun to look through.  Top 5 losses and top 5 wins!

Kernicterus

I think it could even just be 5 games that the user chooses to post...but there can be a link from the profile with a cute icon leading to those games.  That wouldn't be hard.  That would allow you to exclude time wins that were actually lame.

clms_chess

Wow... someone actually reads my long burried posts.... lol. Thank you Afaf.

Lots of players already make little collections, PGN or whatever, of their best games, best wins with the Sicilian etc. This is great for the individuals concerned but I don't believe anyone else would be interested (very much) in your collections.

I think there are some good ideas here. I'd expect it to be a premium member thing though (us basic members cannot even embed games into our profiles by the way). But it would be cool if we could have a small showcase of our best games. I'd certainly look at other peoples.

I hope in the recent chess.com upgrade the powers to be considered this.

Bumping this because best win list would be awesome.
