Most people think that white has an ever so slight advantage and if played near-perfectly, can maintain that advantage.  Myself, wanting to make the game perfectly fair (even for a 1 game match) devised this chess variant, that incorperates something like fischer960.  Before the game starts there are seven moves of swaps.  By that I mean transposing two pieces, or swapping them.  White will make the first transposition move.  This gives black a slight advantage in piece placement, because he will always move to counter whites transpositions, and white has the advantage of the first move.  Of course to avoid playing the system you could make the rule that a transposition cannot bring the board to the same as it was before the transposition.  i.e. swapping any two pawns.  So the opening has already started before the battle has begun!

But replying to a transposition is worth far more than making the first move.

clever!

Black already has the advantage of responding to everything white plays.

To me, it seems that for every white opening there are three black defenses.

This allows black to flank and regain the center in the middle game, making

black ideal for hypermodern play. Oh, and you should consider offering draws

instead of resigning (depending on materiel) if you make a mistake.

Sure, if your opponent has the IQ of a bowl of jello.
