Pretty simple, it has to be a rook move. All you have to do is find the right square
When I was first presented this puzzle, it took me hours to solve. I was 8 then, though...

Took some thought.
Cute idea. Bends the brain a little, since we're so accustomed to looking for the better move rather than the worse one.

The usual sides. If the bottom rank were actually the 8th rank, then white could advance and promote his d7 pawn without check.
