Starts 28th to 29th April. Nakamura already trash talked about how he will slaughter garry in front of him! Really?? Your thoughts! Lol

When the Kasparov vs Short blitz match was going to take place, I underestimated Kasparov. I thought that he was clearly better than Short years ago, but because Short was more active, Kasparov would be the favorite, but not by much.

I don't want to make that mistake again. Yet at the same time, playing against 3 of the world's top ten players is different. On the one hand I can imagine Kasparov getting destroyed, on the other hand I wouldn't be too surprised if he did very well.

Basically I have no idea, but I'm very interested to see what happens!

Kasparov is my favourite player of all time, but even I fear that being mostly inactive for so long and his age will combine to present an unsurmountable disadvantage.

I loved how he crushed Short, but let's not kid ourselves here: Nigel Short, like Kasparov himself, is long past his prime.

Caruana, Nakamura and So are at the top of their game right now, and I would be VERY surprised to see Kasparov getting more than 50% against them.

Kasparov also crushed Lagrave before.

Nakamura, Caruana and So will be the favorite against Kasparov. But it is interesting to see if one of them will be on a recieving end of a vintage Kasparov brilliancy.

And why does Kasparov get the chance to play?

My guess, is that 'Gary' either 'put up' some or All of the '50k' - Deciding, perhaps, that he could afford that.. based on his 'income'/life-expectancy prognosis/personal net worth.  0:

With, "Rex Sinquefeld" chipping in, 20k. {the Lord, just told me!} [ ;

Cool match ups but Kasparov will likely lose I think. I hope no one misinterprets his losses as him being a worse player. Kasparov is the best of all time(or at least tied for best) just past his prime and not up to date on new strategies

Kasparov is more active than you think.

Kasparov dominates online under a pseudonym. Don't be shocked if he pulls off more than 50%.

Can someone post the link to Nak bashing Garry and saying he is going to ass rape him tomorrow?

Today is the day KASPAROV commits murder!! Lol

Hope Kaspy gets his a** kicked. His arrogance is hard to take. Is there a live coverage of the event?

I believe Kaparov will destroy them all..We all learned from Kasparov genial tactics.Including Naka,Caruana and So.Its time for them to meet the creator..Naka 90% ,So 70%,Caruana 60% but Kasparov at least 150% tactical strenght in this time control. You will see crazy sacs for initiative

Thanks limber. I suppose it is just for paying members?

Avatar of limber_up

Nah, I'm pretty sure it's free. I watched the US chess championships on there for free, just tune in at the right time. It's on at 11:00 PDT.

Go Kasparov!

I think Garry will finish a clear second behind Nakamura. After all, he was one of the greatest ever and class is permanent.
