The grand mufti in Saudi Arabia has now forbidden chess as it is a waste of time ...and it is gambling....and "causes hatred between people."  Long past time for people like this to take a giant leap into the 21st century. What a buffoon.

I feel more concerned about the sistematical violation of human rights in that country, of course with the aquiescence of our "free world", since it is one of our friends.

i seem to recall, but cant confirm searching online, that the President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, is a strong chess player. Is this a political dig at him?

Besides, reading the reports this was a phone in program. Think right wing talk show host, and wonder how often muslims hear about the rubbish they come out with.

I'm surprised no one has assassinated the leader of that country and called it a day!!!!

I wish they would ban it here in the USA so. Cold go on with my life and stop wasting it playin this game that just frustrates me
