Uh...oh...looks like he used one of those naughty words.

My comment was about why this nonsense was in the 'General Chess Discussion' Forum.

Thankfully it has now been moved to "Off Topic" where I won't see it.

Great! It will be nice not to see you, too!

Note to self: You are to be commended for not using a cuss word. Keep up the good work.

As far as suggestions go:

1. Practice, Practice, Practice.

2. Say stuff like "you are a mean person" or "Would you please STOP TROLLING??" or "It's Veruca; and my daddy will have you FIRED! FOR MISPRONOUNCING MY NAME!! Won't you daddy?"

That last one was a Willy Wonka reference if you didn't catch it. (very funny scene, btw)

One more possible insult: "You couldn't defeat a bottle of ketchup."

ok, maybe that's not completely original.

ok, maybe I took it from someone else's post.

ok maybe I took it from e4nf3's post. :/

Well Mr.e4---, good luck in your attempt to reduce the use of strong language. In life we must of course put up with a lot of Bovine Scatology however being clever is sometimes better than being very direct  lol.

its how you deliver the message that counts.. not the word itself.

I've just been scolded for the use of profanity. I am guilty. I deserve to be reprimanded, even though certain scurrilious scoundrels have attacked me, often without provocation.

I repent. Sorry to those, deservedly or not, whom I've castigated. Won't happen again.

"Old habits die hard." I am a Navy veteran, but that is no excuse. And, I am but a poor wordsmith. Nonetheless, I am deeply penitent.

Yet, getting banned from the forums could be a godsend...all the wasted time it would salvage. What to do...push my luck? No! Yes!! You'd better not!!!  OK, then it is settled.

This "troll" word, you know, is really a four letter word...at least in intent. But, it is overused, trite and unimaginative. Someone calls me a troll, I knee jerk and counter attack (too much chess) with a "salty" word. But that is all in the past.

Truly, there must be a better way to express vexation. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

(Sorry if this is spam on the thread but I couldnt reply to your message directly due to privacy settings.) What I was going to say was:

"Thank you.  Sorry I didnt reply sooner but I went to watch TV with my wife for a while.  I wholeheartedly agree about the distancing.  I follow quite a lot of threads but I wont be following that one any more."
