With the age of information we are in I think you'll see a lot more child prodigies in the near future. So much chess info online, ease to practice (online), and of course chess engines, it's a lot more convenient to learn and study chess than a few decades ago.
The kid beat 2 Grand-masters at the Tachkent Open at the age of 9! Reaching a perf. at 2514 for a 9 years old kid that's quite some accomplishment.
