Not improving rating

Have played chess for about 11 years now but have been stuck around  1100 elo for the past 5 years or so because I keep just blatantly missing obvious things over and over again and blundering. Have 2300 tactics and have done a lot of opening studying but consistently lose to low rate players online and over the board because I just miss something in a calculation and lose. Not really sure how to stop blundering and missing these basic things because at this point i have played tons of games and gone over many games.

Explain in more detail your study and playing- so you have a USCF rating? What do you mean by over the board games, exactly? Do you play bullet/blitz online, maybe a handful of rapid 10|0 games, or longer ones? How much chess activity do you do daily, and what studying specifically have you/do you do?

I send you a challenge jg777 but I see you are yellow to accept.

I’m not sure what that means, or what that has to do with the forum topic here?

I challenged you again but the same result. I understand you might not be competent enough to understand that this is a chess site so challenging you at chess might come to a bit of shock to you and it's relevance to the site and forum but you will learn to deal with it soon enough, I just wish to see you change your shade from yellow to Green.

You can contact people about playing games outside of posting in a forum that has nothing to do with challenging others to chess games. I’m also completely uninterested in playing 1|0 bullet, and with someone who resorts to insulting others on a whim. Farewell.

Yes I have a uscf rating of about 1100. On my main account I generally play 5|5 and if I want to go over a game I play 10 or 15|10 but have trouble focusing for long games online. I do also play bullet for fun

At this point I don’t really study when my high school team isn’t in season, I have gone off and on studying. There’s been times we’re I spent a lot of time studying opening lines and watching videos, not as much recently.

What’s your problem man. He doesn’t want to play you, just drop it.

Why, coz u don't want to?

InsertInterestingNameHere

-challenges someone

-they politely state they do not understand

-proceeds to insult them

-they say they do not want to play

-insult them even more

also, what are you, 4? saying “oh you don’t wanna do [] because you’re scared” is kindergarten behavior.

That's awesome you've reached 1100 USCF! Are the time controls Scholastic (i.e. G/30, G/40 d5, ect?) or longer like G/90? How many OTB games have you played (provisional or established)?

I recommend daily study. It doesn't have to be long, but constantly exposing yourself to chess material allows you to assimilate it and retain more of it over time. For example, you could set up an hour/day for chess and solve 5-10 puzzles, then play a Rapid 15}0 game, review it, then go work on either some endgame, opening, or other chess content (ChessAble.com is one possible source for this) for the remainder of your time. I would shy away from a lot of opening study however, you'll get more benefit from focusing on calculating and visualization exercises, reviewing master games (preferably in openings you play!), and playing and analyzing your own games to identify weak areas you need to improve upon. Over time you'll reap more benefits from something organized, structured, and consistent. I'd leave blitz and such more for fun and entertainment than anything else.

@jg777 You are scared to play one minute? You are not a well-rounded enough player to be teaching.

that was weird, i was mostly joking with the challenge thing, just be nice alright?

Not sure the exact amount of games but I’ve played in around 70 OTB rated tournaments ranging from game 30 to game 120, plus three years of high school chess. I’ll try and study more endgames and master games instead of openings and blitz and hope it helps stop the blunders and missing my opponents threats. Thanks
