not successful

i tried to read books...and i have made thousands of games....especially i focused on chess opennings...i played with my friends and all around the world...i have playing chess for 20 years..i have solved tons of chess problems...and i have watched lots of videos on youtube....but i am still successfull....i guess all that things show me that i am not clever....i am tired to afford on chess...i am helpless...do someone suggest me something

Your standard rating is pretty good, don't feel bad, a lot of people play all their lives and don't get that high a rating.

In a 2010 book, GM Andrew Soltis wrote, "... good books can [give a clear verbal description of what an opening is all about] ... If there isn't any text - if it's all just moves - then this isn't the book for you." It might be that part of the problem is choosing the wrong books for you. This is very common. What have you been trying to read?
