This philosophy

" a chess engine can be very useful, but it can also turn into a crutch that actually prevents you from improving" unlike computers a person with intuitive and instincts can grasps what imbalances are in the position. Do any of you agree????

Why not give people a clue as to what your topic is when you actually choose it-- such as "Chess engines- a crutch that prevents improving?"

You might get more responses that way.

//  I don't see how computers can turn into a crutch unless you use them to cheat.  If you use them to analyze your games and find out where you went wrong, they are wonderful.

How about this no matter how the all powerful chess engine , but some players seem to mistake it for their own. Thats why you have to understand the position not just go by how the computer computerizes the position if its based on an advantage of 1.0000000. Thats why its better to ask yourself the question, "whats going on" if you just let the computer do the dirty work how useful is the nformation. Nobody should think like a computer thats why its better to get a better understanding of imbalances computerd cannot calculate imbalances of the position.
