5. Start negotiations with the European Federation - after Britain voted to remain, it's become far too centralized to ignore anymore.

That's a good point. Despite the critical role that the EU plays on the global stage, the US has conducted no negotiations whatsoever with it for nearly 40 years. That is far too long. In order to solve many of the pressing problems facing the world today, the US and EU need to look past their historical differences and re-establish friendly relations with one another. The path to reconciliation won't be easy, but it is a path that both sides need to take, and I am optimistic that in the next few years, the leaders of both sides will realize that it is their duty to take the first step down this path as soon as possible.

President Nakamura has decreed that Europeans shall be the first to populate Mars, including Magnus Carlsen.

Wait a second, didn't the Islamic State already land two hundred citizens on Martian soil? There's no way President Nakamura would support a European push to Mars when the US's closest ally has already staked out a claim for itself, not after Richmond was leveled by European bombers.

It is only a matter of time before the Islamic State's monopoly on Mars colonization comes to an end. Other superpowers like China, Japan and the Maldives are developing their own Mars programs, and although US intelligence on these programs has been sketchy, there is reason to believe that in 30 years, these countries could develop the technology to create telescopes powerful enough to observe Mars. From there, it is only a small step to sending mass waves of people to the planet and colonizing it.

In light of the future outlook of Mars colonization, I think that it is best for the US and the rest of the world to promote competition for land and resources on Mars, rather than simply letting a few superpowers divide up everthing. Therefore, I think it is time for the US to look past its historical differences with Europe, and provide it with the help that it needs to develop the technology to send its people to Mars. Although Europe is one of the most technologically backward places in the world today, it has a lot of potential for development, and the US, by helping Europe through its present crisis, could turn a former enemy into a key ally in the future.

If only it worked that way. The African Union has been sending peacekeeping forces and aid to Europe for decades now, and they either get stopped at the border and the aid divvied up for the European elites, or they get past customs and get terrorized by the citizenry anyways. Our own embassies in Andorra have compound walls and platoons of military guards, and even those aren't enough sometimes.

Besides, a bigger issue is Canada, or, as they like to style themselves, the "Democratic People's Republic of the Yukon". Their missile tech is hilariously bad (the failures of Quebec-1 and Beaver-7 come to mind), but they're being supplied by Europe itself. There's no official statement of course, but everyone knows it. Before we talk about letting Europe set foot on Mars, we should talk about getting Europe off of the Americas.

Nakamura once won the U.S. presidential election as a Democrat, while losing the electoral vote ... as a Republican.

Conspicuously, as well as "suspiciously" absent in the preceding discourse (and alarming omission of even notional, let alone scientifically factual) mention of the "Spaceflight Osteopenia" phenomena occuring in extreme, sustained microgravity endemic to a prolonged spaceflight to Mars, ...whereby upwards of 1% bone-mass loss occurs per month! Until quite recently (during prior ISS sustained missions), Russian record breaking, prolonged microgravity ISS exposure resulted in significant consequent diminished bone osteoclast activity & bone mineral density, as well as calcium, vitamin D & K deficiencies, due to decreased intestinal calcium absorption and increased urinary calcium excretion, inevitably resulting in "Spaceflight Osteopenia", according to officials at NASA's Johnson Space Center.

However, in recent prolonged stay ISS missions, by all appearances, the Russians have miraculously succeeded in reversing this biological conundrum plaguing human prolonged microgravity exposure. Yet, the Russian stonewall of the scientific & space flight community, in outright refusal to share the underlying science behind succesfully preventing (and reversing!) these deleterious effects upon their own ISS prolonged-mission Russian Cosmetologistcontinues to disconcert NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA) and NAKA. Further baffling, ...upon the Russian space pioneer's return to Earth, is their "apparently quite lovely skin and hair, ...soft, smooth feet and radiant glow" (Reuters, London).

Sorry for getting back to you so late. My typewriter broke down, and I had to fix it before I could write this message. But anyway, the situation in Canada is certainly concerning. Have you heard about how they've amassed millions of troops at the US border over the past month? They say that they're working on an infrastructure project, but only fools believe that.

Also, in case you haven't been following the news lately (just in case; not saying that I think you haven't), recent developments in Russia seem to be equally troubling. Mongolia is invading Russia and occupying large swaths of its territory, while President Vladimir Kramnik is too busy overseeing the rebuilding of the Berlin Wall in Germany to care. Some concerned Russian citizens reportedly want to ask Czechoslovakia for military aid, but I doubt that it can afford to send much help, since most of their troops are probably pinned down in the ongoing war against separatist elements. I hear that the US is their next potential source of aid, but should we really be sending troops overseas when the should be preparing for a possible all-out war with the Yukon?

It's a strange world we live in.

wow, which timeline is this?. I gotta get back to my original one.

The funniest thing is, the DPRY/Canada really was just a buffer state set up by the ayatollah in the Islamic Republic of Alaska originally so that it wouldn't have to deal with the US on its borders, what with its global commitments east of Kamchatka. Now, though, I'm sure the Supreme Leader is groaning internally; the DPRY's spun way out of their control. Czechoslovakia and Nigeria (damn Nigerians, always poking their heads into every corner of the globe like they own it) always try to hit it with another round of sanctions, but we know how that's going to pan out - saber-rattling, food aid, no real change, blah blah blah.

And I think we're looking at Russia the wrong way. You know they've been called "the Graveyard of Empires", right? Back in the year of our Lord (hah, remember the times when the Pastafarian Church actually had power and made this part of the calendar?) 956, the Afghanis rode in on their donkeys like it was just another everyday conquest, but they all died in the infamous Russian summer and swamps. It's no different now; Mongolia boasts about its superior combat turtles (which, by the way, are straight copycats of the Nigerian Y-5A6s), but they're no match against good old water cannons in the dark jungles of the Urals.

I should be president. Ever since I went to the Sahara Desert in Texas, USA and met the native people, the Mongols, I knew that president elect Michelle Obama clearly wasn't going to support these Mongols in their daily life of hunting kangaroos and elephants. I say we should build a ball, but not just any ball, one big enough to house the perfect swamp ecosystem so the Mongols can hunt efficiently without the locally sourced nuclear weaponry or bunicula interfering.
Muttley101

Good grief.  It's the Gobi desert that is in Texas, and Texas is in the Sahara, not the other way round.  It's sloppy thinking like this that resulted in America invading Europe in the 1930s, thus starting world war 1.

Ordinarily I think a presidential candidate should know all the deserts of the world (prime real estate for building cities with beach front access), so it's a little concerning that you don't know your Amazon from your Arizona, but I like your policies concerning the preservation of the way of life of the indigenous people of Texas, which I hope can be extended to the people of North Dakota so that they can build their sacred oil pipeline.  As you're no doubt aware, currently this is being blocked by the military and local police forces because they eat their donuts in the local forest the pipeline will run through, and are concerned that their "Iron Donut" rituals will be disturbed.

I'm swayed by your human touch.  If you can confirm you'll support the nomads of North Dakota I'll vote for you in 2016.  I applaud your choice of the twins Michelle and Barak as your running mates.  You're making history with every decision you take.

Team Windmill, 2016.   When do the votes have to be in by?

This thread is my only source for what is happening and what will happen in the world.

No other info is needed.

I agree, Eseles.   I used to read newspapers, watch the news, and occasionally open the curtains.  Now everything is available on this thread, which could simply be titled "What President Nakamura did next".    I did however see that President Nakamura is visiting London to knight the queen for her services to the colonies of the Americas, and whilst there deigned to play a few exhibition games against the lucky few.  He's already crushed Wesley So.  I fear for the sanity of the rest after seeing this game.
