Well i was on my IPHONE and since i didnt have submit move on i accidently clicked my king and i wanted to click a pawn instead so i clicked somewhe randomley so it cancels my king but me being stupid clicked on the square beside the king and the king moved..

well it was so obvious it was a slip-up cause i wanted to take the dudes bishop.. im not a ****** idiot i know when theres a bishop diagnol from the pawn.

Well the guy didnt want to do takebacks.. what a sore winner, if hes only here to win he should quit chess or something, he wasted 1 hr of his life playing this game against me only to let a misclick end this whole game.. think about it... in real life you dont slip-up and let his bishop roam.

The guy ruined the game for me, i hate ****** like this, only looking to win, they have no sportmanship, this is the reason online chess suck cause these ******* idiots care about winning and dont care for the game at all.

Just venting... feel free to agree or to flame.

I've only quoted the relevant portion of the rant.

Seriously, why use a device like the iPhone without the submit move button? You're just asking for trouble.

For online play my philosophy is to live with moves made whatever side you are on.

It's just an online game.

There will be another game just around the corner. One of the chief virtues of chess I think.

One time otb with my chief HS rival he was going to castle and he somehow dropped his king on f1. He instantly looked up at me with a horrified/pleading look on his face. I said, "Just castle." He did and I eventually won--an "untainted" game. Casual otb seems to permit "error relief" in a more sensible way. At least this is my experience.

"what a sore winner"

Oh the irony... just kidding. Hope I didn't hurt your feelings. Honestly man, you're gonna have to live with the fact that the internet isn't some nice cozy chess shop where you're good friends with everyone.

Honestly, I would have done the same thing. Its happened to me before and I recieved no mercy, but thats because it was my fault and I'll play the next game more carefully. Afterall, its only a game, so why get mad?

"If you are playing me and your mouse genuinly slips, I'll allow you to have a move back. I will not do what an opponent just did to me. I was moving in on a crush against a 2000 in a 15 minute game on FICS, my mouse slipped and a completley irrelevant piece auto'd as soon as his move completed, giving me no time to revoke the automove. It was obvious, but I still told him what happened. He thought for a good minute and took a bishop he had challneged on his last move with a pawn. It was along the left flank, my center had a backwards pawn and my right flank was advancing. The bishop was going to pin a pawn on the right flank from moving as my kingside pawns advanced. After the bishpo fell and the left flank pawn was removed, the position would easily fall apart. This was a cowardly act. Uttly cowardly."  (This bothered me)

Well, I never heard it before and it made me laugh.  lol.

I wish I could rid the world of all people who whine about takebacks.  Get a spine.  Please.

Serbo, kingwangthergreat's comment is actually on point.  You've created this topic basically to whine about something that happens to all of us now and then.  You're aggravated? So what? Deal with it.  That's life, full of pain and dissappointments.   Did you just figure that out because of YOUR slip up?  The fact is you screwed up, not him and he's under no obligation to behave the way you'd like him to just because you're having a little cry baby temper tantrum about it.

Happened to me a couple of times.  It's very dissapointing when your grand strategy is ruined by a slip of the finger.  There will never be another game exactly like that one.  I now use the submit button - it's worth the extra click.

You have 2 options: either you use submit move button and avoid such situations, or do not use it and take the risk of the slip-ups. It's totally up to you. Blaming your opponents for your own mistakes will not help.

I'd like to state in the defence of no-one, that I use the submit button and I still managed to slip and not notice before automatically clicking the submit move.

I look forward to hearing from you again in a few months when another one of your jerk opponents causes you to lose because they wouldn't let you undo the move you made with the Submit Move button.

Haha,

well ill try to be more careful,

but it sucks wasting so much time on a game only to let it go by a misclick, thats why i was pissed off.

Yes, it was my fault but ill be more careful next time.

Let this be a learning experience...

What would be a bigger waste of time in the long run? The fractions of a second it takes to use the submit move button, or all the time you spent thinking on a game you threw away with a finger slip?
