Offensive names

This morning there was some 'KKK' guy, now there's this guy:

http://www.chess.com/members/view/siegheil

Why are they allowed?  They're incredibly offensive.

oinquarki

Wouldn't it be slightly more rational and less with-hunt-y to simply talk to him instead of calling him a fascist and demanding that he be banned?

Now that I think of it, I'll go do that now.

It is just difficult to search for all those names and judge if they are offensive.

A Croatian guy once said his text was blocked in game chat when wrote something in his language that was found to be offensive in English.

Before banning siegheil, we should be certain it was a reference to the nazi Sieg Heil, and does not mean anything in an obscure Indian dialect (the siegheil guy chosed India in country option)

So it takes time. You should report all the suspects to chess.com and let them judge.

I once saw a guy complaining about Brazilians that were typing KKK after their comments on a funny video in You Tube.

Happens that it is one of the ways Brazilians express laughing in Internet.

Do not judge people too fast. You can report to chess.com and let them judge.

You can try talking to the guy too, as oinquarki sugested.

I'm confused.  When did -I- 'demand' he get banned?  When did -I- call him a fascist?

Get your facts straight before claiming such erroneous things...

The KKK was straight forward:  Said he was going to lynch me on his opening move as a standard opening.  Think that's a clear one there.

That was not aimed at you personally, just in general. There were notes on his profile saying "fascist." Sorry for the misunderstanding.

You mean Knooterbob is African-American? And he complains about KKK? Knooterbob called me a "midget philipino" when he lost to me. I've been trying to find ways to report this guy. Go figure...

LlordLlama

Well, report it to the admins. I am quite sure that unless his real name is Kristoffer "Kris" Kristofferson, he has no justifications.

The SiegHeil guy was in Live chess a few days ago, coming out with all sorts of 'Nazi'  stuff. Tried to get hold of staff then but with no luck.

I didn't have time then to file an abuse report - haven't seen him there since so assumed he was banned, but if not he should be!

EDIT: Just checked the link and he has been banned - -good riddance!

Question:  What's to prevent a banned member from returning under another handle and/or using a different email address to continue doing the same thing? Can chess.com block the IP address of the offender to prevent future access to this site? And what if the offender uses a dynamic IP address versus a static IP?

I am just curious. I guess that it is not often that some 'ZERO' rears his (or her) ugly head to cause trouble in this manner out here; but I suppose most of the offenders would be male.

 Any feedback is welcome. Cheers!!!

I don't find "siegheil", or "KKK" offensive at all, even though those usernames remind me of the U.S. Jesus pictures remind me of slavery, and the crusades.
