As far as I know, I will be next weekend. Saturday, September 6, 9-10:00 PM U.S. Pacific Time. I don't know how that works out for you, but we can discuss it. How many hours away is your time zone from U.S. Pacific Time?
Yes, that would be hard to schedule? Is there any other way it might work? You could do some kind of a correspondence game analysis instead of a live session, for example.

You need to work on tactics. If by "clear winning position" you mean how to checkmate with a KQ, KR, and KRR vs. K, I can send you that, or its on the internet.
I've worked on tactics, and I don't think the checkmate patterns you talked about are the ones I have trouble with. What I mean is making forcing moves and then checkmating as quickly as possible. Though I can perform basic checkmates well enough, I have trouble noticing when I'm the one about to be checkmated. I'll give you an example- there was this 30|0 live game I played against a lower rated player yesterday. I started winning easily, but couldn't find forcing moves that would lead to a checkmate, so I started biding my time and taking my opponent's hanging pieces. While I was doing this, my opponent set up an easy checkmate, and I didn't notice it until it was too late. I was shocked at how the game turned around. I've included it here:

Ok, this might sound a bit weird because I am not not a master level player but I've got some chess knowledge and I think I can help beginners and low intermediate players (<1600) to improve their game. I am currently hovering between 1700-1800 live standard and I think coaching experience will help me as a chess player also. During the training we'll discuss openings, endgames, how to form a plan, strategic imbalances etc. We will very likely start by playing a few standard games (you can choose the time control but it has to be at least 15|10 so that you won't blunder pieces away because of time pressure). I will analyze the games and try to see what your weak spots are. If you're interested in a particular opening, I can help you. I don't know many variations but I know the main plans and ideas in the Ruy Lopez Exchange, French Defense and Caro Kann. If you're interested leave a message, either here or PM me.
