official site daily tournaments

I was just wondering if this site still do official site daily tournaments and if so, how often are they generally held. I would like to play in a correspondence style chess tournament but it seems like the member created daily tournaments take a while to get started.

Yes, there's usually new ones starting every month. You can filter the type to Official when looking at the Upcoming list. Right now nothing is scheduled but it looks like the last one started September 20th.

But that is the thing. Official chess.com tournaments used to start at the beginning of each new month, and I believe also in the middle of the month. So why the change?

Also I think that the tournaments which started the most recently were called "catch-up" tournaments.. what does that mean? Thanks

I agree with Marty_092. I find it frustrating when I don't know what's the plan. Is chess.com committed to managing official tournaments on a regular schedule, or has the policy changed? It used to be an open tournament, followed by a thematic tournament, alternating months and starting on the first of each month. It would be very nice to get an official response from management to let everyone know the status and the intention going forward.
