prize 1 euro? are you mocking us?

As #58 said!

However, if you don't want to play, you really don't have to, pdela. But one thing is clear. If you're loud one more time before you make predictions (if you're going to, anyway), I'll block you till 3 days prior to Opening ceremony. You're allowed to talk about Championship in general though.

However, I offer 100€ if you guess everything. Your choice!

Just going to record this incase someone actually does this grin.png

I notice a catch that some people fall into: If number of wins is 4, then points difference at the end can't be 3... :-) It can be 2, it can be 4 - but not 3.

Check this for yourself, you will see.

At this writing, apart from me, fourteen people answered MSC's questions - and exactly SEVEN of them have fallen into this...

Avatar of SJFG

@solskytz, I almost did that.

Avatar of ijgeoffrey

Took me 10 mins to avoid that. tongue.png

Lol to both of you! I do everything to improve the quality of the competition... :-)

It's possible that some members are gambling and while compromising their chances to win *all* points, they can at least win some of them. ;) However, thanks for the notice! :)

Avatar of solskytz

I thought about that - it may be a valid strategy - but they forego $100...

I just guessed the final score first and then based my answers on that.  Very little math involved.

That would be known as "betting against yourself" and is a big no-no for experienced gamblers.  Kinda like betting two different horses to win a race.  In the long run, you will lose, because you are betting against yourself and your winnings won't cover your losses.

Winner of WCC Carlsen
Number of games played in WCC 10
Number of all wins in WCC 4
First win - round 3
First win - player Carlsen
Tie-break? No
Average number of moves per game 45
Most used opening move 1.d4
Points difference at the end 3
BONUS: Result of Game 7 Carlsen win

I realise I can't count. I was thinking with 3 Carlsen wins and 1 Karjakin win after 10 rounds the point difference would be 3 and and the match be over.

Apparently 3-1 != 3. (I should have used a calculator for that one meh.png)

I want to change to:

Number of games played: 11

Point difference at the end: 2

Average number of moves/game: 41.5 (I want a decimal to be more original grin.png)

Avatar of talfanok

whats the odds on Mischa Tal winning ?

He didn't say that we could guess decimals, like 41.5.  If that's within the rules, then I want to change mine to 40.6.   lol

Avatar of MSC157

Thanks for that, guys. Now I specifically allowed 1 decimal in post #3 Smile
