GM? not real likely. master? possible! expert? well within reach. the stuff we learn in our formative years is just too powerful to pick up later on in life. not a day goes by that i wish i hadn't learned chess at five or seven and stuck with it. to "see" the game that much differently would be something else. as it is, i'm stuck in patzerville because i picked the game up in my mid 20s and by that time the beer had already made it impossibly hard to learn much more. :D *grin*

I believe Carlsen is third youngest, so we shouldn't belittle this and other achievements, but he is definitely not youngest.
