a player on a rival site made his 1M move.  What's the current record here?  Correspondence not rapid or blitz-though correspondence can be "blitzed" out which likely happened in this case.

Be international, please !  1 M = 1000 according to two reliable sources.

How many moves did he make ?

Sorry. He has made more than 1,000,000 moves.

My first reaction, perhaps nice for the readers of this forum :

Laszlo Szabo, Hungarian Grandmaster, born in 1917, wrote a book in 1981 with the title : " 100.000 moves in 50 years ", which means approx. 50 to 60 games per year, and : OTB, over the board !

I myself play chess since schooltime, so at least 50.000 to 60.000 moves OTB in clubs and tournaments.

In 5 minutes games here on chess.com I made far more moves in say 20.000 games, I will check how many exact.

There have been other forums about the number of games played here, I don't know the titles , so cannot find them.

I think I am addicted to chess, I played in 4 years and 7 months over 21.000 games here, more than 10 a day, but often no game at all, so max should have been 30 to 40 an a sonny day...
