On “The Secret of Chessâ€

Well, as long as he’s running away from us, I don’t mind.

I have been a sports athlete, a sports coach, a student of Multivariable Calculus, an investor in the Stock Markets, etc., and EVERY one of those areas has books that claim to know "the secret" to succeeding in them. And EVERY one I was foolish enough to read was garbage!
In every serious field, it takes HARD WORK to succeed and THAT is the only "secret."

Interesting. Thoughts on gwtr.com?

Playing specifically to beat specific engines (assuming this claim is even true) is hardly applicable since engines have an insurmontable advantage in tactics - top GMs have already demonstrated the likely outcome.
I am NOT a random top GM, you should be aware of that:
I think it would be interesting to see you play a top GM and have Chess.com broadcast the match. Wouldn't that validate your claims?

You are wrong, a saw a few 1300, 1400 rated people bought it. In fact more than 100 millions of people play chess and at least 50% are 1300, 1400 or less and they might try something with good ads.
Why did you open it then, if you don't want a discussion?

It's a pity you did not read the only one that really deserves reading:
Hard work, that is what I EXCEL at.
'The Secret of Chess' is the product of my hard work.

Are you part of that company?

took about 3 seconds (only 23 depth)
Yeah, but my game was with 1 sec. per move for SF.

Are there any rated players on chess.com that would like to challenge Mr. Tsvetkov? I think a lot of people would like to see this.

And so, despite the somewhat outrageous claims and poor written English of the introduction, I pushed on, hoping to find at least one or two useful training nuggets.
ironically, Amazon classifies it under ‘Humour and Entertainment’)
I do get the impression from reading the book that chess programmers comprise Tsvetkov’s primary audience.
To be honest, I feel that Tsvetkov could be a little biased here by his large experience playing against engines
From a regular reader’s perspective, the tables and precise values aren’t very helpful.
If I had written this book and got this rather poor review I would be disappointed to say the least
