on the subject of rematches

Since I’ve skimmed the topics and a few people can’t seem to understand why, even if the game is incredibly close, people will decide not to rematch. I’ll keep this simple.

no one owes you a rematch for the sake of your ego. I’ve seen your playing style, I won or lost, and there are thousands of other people online at any given point in time.
If you’re upset about not getting a rematch, I’ll have to assume you also got upset in elementary school for not getting a participation trophy on field day. 🙂

Weird for a 300 elo to say this

lol, I’m just beginning, it’s wild to shame someone for learning chess. :) someone took my comment on their forum about friend requests personally eh

The "Rematch" issue has nothing to do with rating or with playing strength. It's a social (or perhaps, psycho-social) issue.

My own comments on the rematch issue?

First, nobody owes you a rematch.

Second, from my own personal experience I've found that your chess works more smoothly if you keep your ego in neutral.

If someone sends a rematch I do the following:

1. Accept it

2. Don’t play, instead go to chat

3. Laugh at them and tell em how bad they played

4. Abort
