I was 1200 when I started I hoped from 1200 to 1300 and then 1 day I just won like 8/10 so my current rating is 1464 in like 2 days I went from 1265 to 1465 200 point increase. And I am still going something clicked on in my mind and I think I understand chess now the essence behind it.

I went from 1200 to 1800 OTB in 1 year. I also went from 1600 to 1800 OTB in 1 year.

I'm now 14 years old and I started to take chess seriously about a year ago. I now have an international rating of about 1100, and I am in my school's chess team. I am able to play 20 tournaments games a year with the team and I also participated in few tournaments. I am lucky enough to have a good chess coach for the team (he is a FM and has experience at teaching) I also play online on a daily basis. My goal is to become a Candidate Master or Fide Master in less than 5 years. Can I achieve this goal and how ?

Everythings is possible if you give it your best amd really want it. I improved really watching pro players plays, computers plays, I bought books on opening and ending chess game and I studied line. Went to tornements and clubs. You will improve over time but at your current level you should be able to go up 200 or 300 point with no real problem

I improved from 1000 to 1700 online in rapid this year. Ofc I will play FIDE tmt after Covid.

I don't know if this is relevant. Its not even a 1 year increase. But still I wanted to share my own experience. I started playing chess.com last November 2020 with an elo of 1100+ and am now 1400+ in March 2021, (an increase close to 300). I don't have any books that I'm reading, no help from so called coach, its just pure self learning. What I have though is constantly watching insightful games from higher rated players and tactics present here in chess.com (or other chess sites if you want more). But my best study so far is having the ability to ask "why" in most games I've played, especially on those lost ones. "Why did I lose?" "I was winning in this position, what mistake did I made that made me lose?" "Wow, I have a missed win in this position and would've made a comback? Where? Why? How?" With these questions ever present and with the help of analysis board and game report, I started to improve at a very fast pace (or was I)? I don't know. Prior to having my account in chess.com, I already have experience in playing chess throughout my life (I started playing at the age of 4, very enthusiastic at the age of 16, lost and now, at the age of 21, the ember and spark that would've already lost, sparked again) I'm on my way to my 1500 elo in rapid (online) by then, I don't know what'll happen next. Wish me luck.

It's certainly possible. More than possible, I would say. I didn't have any chess experience before last year, and since then I have gone from 500 (my starting rating) to 2100 on Lichess (the equivalent FIDE is 1900, I believe). On average, I spent around the same time as you playing chess, although I also consumed a LOT of (and by that I mean probably even too much) chess content, which definitely also helped. I didn't have a coach nor do any self-study, however.

The key component in my improvement, though, has undoubtedly been the systematic approach of "did I ever have a losing position in a given game? --> if yes, why did I end up in a losing position --> Can I generalise this reason enough to apply it in future games? What course of action does Stockfish recommend in these types of positions? --> If I can't generalise this reason, I should study my opening a bit deeper and understand the key strategical and tactical ideas in it". This approach is what gained me most of my elo. So if you adopt a similar approach, I believe you will progress very-very quickly.

I don't expect ya'll to increase at this rate since from what I've seen it is really rare, but my friend went from 700 to 1930 in roughly 4-5 months and he only dedicated 6 hours a week to chess probably. I've been playing for a little over 3 months and went from 700 to 1600 and spend like 7 hours a week on chess. Some part of it is just natural skill and will differ for everyone.

You went from 700 to 1600 in 4 months. That's a little faster than me - I have progressed from 500 to 1500 in just under 6 months (at which point I took a 3-month break). Very impressive on your part, given I have not known any grown adult who has progressed faster than me until now, but still believable that you really did start from absolute scratch (that's a question to you ─ did you? Or did you play a lot as a child and only recently got back into chess?). However, your friend's supposed progress? It sounds waaay too fast to be plausible. Your friend absolutely must have had a significant amount of chess experience even at the time he was 700-rated. For reference, it took me a year and four months to reach 1900-strength, and as you know, I have progressed at a pace which is comparable to yours. Do you have a link to your friend's account? Your claims about him are really difficult to believe.

Ya sure I got you I can. His username is Fisherman1114. If you need me to do anything else for you to see his account I can do it.
