My main problem with what you're saying 1899 club is: Why does this matter? Who the hell cares? I've lost games because I had to leave, and have my losses destroyed computer chess as we know it or made me a terrible player? I'd say no on both ends (certainly the first, the second is still up for debate, of course!).
Online chess in danger?

I think there will always be people who don't really play online chess too seriously, and play mainly for the joy of mating an opponent in ridiculous fashions while playing online, and really don't care about playing quality chess except in serious OTB events (we can call them the "Connor Lunneys" of the world). However, there are also lots of people who are very serious about their online chess (we can call them, the scottrf's of the world :)! ), who will make online chess enjoyable for people who fall into the not-me category, and in that regard, I think online chess will always be fine.

clunney; Don't let him get under your skin. He started the thread,Chess=Porn?. Then he asked his fellow country men for advice on local clubs.

Do you live alone?
Do you think that is an appropriate question? I don't think you'll be getting into any of those upscale clubs you were asking about.

Is it the same dude? LOL

Is it the same dude?? There's 5 or 6 impersonators around since the 1st of the year. You can tell the're not serious about chess, because they haven't played 1 game on this site, and they create nonsence threads. Maybe their behavior got them banned from Facebook!

I declined because YOU and your other TROOL friends are constantly giving staff problems; starting nonsence threads for them to delete. If you have no respect for a site that your not paying for, then why should anyone here have any respect for you?

If what you say is true, it dosen't mean they are not serious about chess.

Being a paid or unpaid member has nothing to do with respect.

Yes I do realize this, but you don't here me complaining about the free members, who DO respect the other members, and the staff, and the rules.

To me, playing online chess seriously require to be on front of a computer screen with a good mouse to be able see the board properly and not screwing up the game with a bad move.
I'm sure back then people that were playing OTB said the same thing about playing in front of a computer screen.
I was there. Yes, they were.
Are people still using PCs...?
MARTY! What year is this??
